Tourist Information by www.barriosantacruz.com
|
Callejón del Agua takes
its name from the water channel that ran along the wall that
separates it from the Alcázar Gardens, recently restored, which
you can observe at the beginning of the street in Plaza de
Alfaro.
On the Olavide map, its
name is Calle del Muro, Wall Street.

The house at number 2
is very interesting, a stone plaque on its façade remembers
Washington Irving, and it is also one of the most characteristic
Sevillian manor houses, studded with flowerpots.
We will also find, on
another of the manor houses, a stone plaque dedicated to the
Marquis de Valle Inclán, first Regal Tourism Comissioner and the
man responsible for last century’s restructuring of Barrio Santa
Cruz
